Terms of Service

Slidereel (“Slidereel”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is an AI-powered video generation service operated by Bruno Godinho, located in Belgium, European Union.

You can reach us at support@tryslidereel.com for any questions, complaints, or legal notices. We aim to respond within 3 business days.

By accessing or using Slidereel at tryslidereel.com (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

These Terms form a legally binding contract between you and Slidereel. Please read them carefully.

Slidereel is a web application that enables users to create AI-generated vertical video slideshows (“Carousels”) for social media platforms including TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter). The Service includes:

• AI Script Generation: Automated script writing from a user-supplied topic using large language models.
• AI Image Generation: Per-slide image creation using generative AI models.
• Text-to-Speech Voice-Over: Narration generation in multiple languages.
• Video Rendering: Composition of slides, transitions, audio, and captions into an MP4 file using Remotion.
• Social Publishing: Optional direct posting to connected social accounts.

All features consume credits as described in Section 6. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time with reasonable notice.

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. Users aged 16–17 may use the Service only with verifiable parental or guardian consent, as permitted under EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) Article 8.

By creating an account, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and that you meet the eligibility requirements above.

Accounts are created via Google Sign-In or email/password through Firebase Authentication (operated by Google). You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• All activity that occurs under your account, whether authorised by you or not.
• Notifying us immediately at support@tryslidereel.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

You may not share your account, sell access to it, or allow others to use it as if it were their own. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that show signs of sharing or abuse.

The Service operates on a credit system. Credits are consumed when you use AI generation, voice-over, and video rendering features. Approximate costs per action are shown in the app; we reserve the right to adjust credit costs with 14 days' notice.

Subscription Plans: We offer monthly, quarterly, and annual subscription plans (Starter, Pro, Ultra) that grant a recurring credit allowance. Subscription credits are refreshed each billing period and expire if your subscription lapses.

Credit Packs: One-time credit packs (e.g., Boost, Studio) can be purchased separately. Pack credits do not expire while your account remains active.

Billing: All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. You authorise Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring basis for subscription plans. Prices are displayed in USD and include applicable taxes where required.

Failed Payments: If a payment fails, your subscription may be suspended until the outstanding amount is settled. We will notify you by email before suspending access.

Free Credits: New accounts receive a one-time allocation of free credits for evaluation purposes. Free credits may not be transferred and have no monetary value.

As an EU consumer, you ordinarily have a 14-day right of withdrawal from digital service contracts under Directive 2011/83/EU. However, by requesting that Slidereel begin providing the Service immediately upon subscription (e.g., by using any credit or generating any content during the 14-day period), you expressly acknowledge and agree that you lose your right of withdrawal once the Service has been performed.

If you have not used any credits or generated any content within 14 days of your first paid subscription, you may withdraw by contacting us at support@tryslidereel.com. We will confirm your withdrawal and refund your payment within 14 days.

Subscriptions: You may cancel your subscription at any time via your Billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access and credits until then. No partial refunds are issued for unused time in the current period, except as required by EU consumer law or as described in Section 7.

Consumed Credits: Credits that have already been used to generate content are non-refundable, regardless of your satisfaction with the AI output.

Credit Packs: Credit packs are non-refundable once purchased, except where required by applicable EU consumer law.

Involuntary Termination: If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund any unused portion of your current subscription period on a pro-rata basis. Unused pack credits will be refunded at their original per-credit purchase price.

To request a refund you believe is owed under these Terms, email support@tryslidereel.com with your account email and reason.

Ownership: You own the content you create using the Service, including scripts, images, voice-overs, and rendered videos. Slidereel makes no claim to ownership of your output.

Your Responsibility: You are solely responsible for ensuring that:

• Your input topics and any text you provide do not infringe third-party intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
• AI-generated content you publish complies with the platform rules of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, and any other distribution channel you use.
• Content that includes identifiable people, brands, or trademarks has appropriate clearance.

Imperfection: AI models may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected output. Slidereel does not guarantee factual accuracy of AI-generated scripts or images. Always review output before publishing.

No Professional Advice: AI-generated content is not legal, financial, medical, or any other form of professional advice.

Your License to Us: By submitting input to the Service (topics, text, uploaded assets), you grant Slidereel a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process that input solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not use your inputs to train AI models without your explicit consent.

Our IP: The Slidereel platform, including its source code, design system, slide templates, Remotion compositions, brand assets, and all associated intellectual property, is owned by Slidereel and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without our express written permission.

Feedback: Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you share with us may be used by Slidereel without obligation to you.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Create, distribute, or promote content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or discriminatory.
• Generate or distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that sexually exploits minors. Such usage will result in immediate account termination and referral to law enforcement.
• Impersonate any person, entity, or brand in a misleading or deceptive manner.
• Create disinformation, deep fakes, or content designed to deliberately mislead audiences.
• Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service by automated means without our written permission.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
• Share, resell, or transfer your account, or create multiple accounts to abuse free credit allocations.
• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.

Violation of this section may result in immediate account suspension, termination, and forfeiture of any remaining credits without refund.

The Service integrates with third-party providers whose own terms and policies govern their respective services:

• Stripe: Payment processing. Your payment data is handled directly by Stripe and never stored on our servers. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Google Firebase & Google Cloud: Authentication and file storage. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic & Google GenAI: AI model providers used to generate scripts and images. Your inputs may be processed on their infrastructure subject to their terms.
• Social Platforms (TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, X): When you connect a social account, you authorise us to publish content on your behalf. Each platform's own terms of service apply. You may disconnect at any time from your Settings page.
• ElevenLabs: Text-to-speech voice generation.

We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of any third-party service.

We process personal data in accordance with EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable national data protection law. Our full Privacy Policy details what data we collect, how we use it, and how long we retain it.

Legal Bases: We process your data on the basis of contract performance (to provide the Service you signed up for), legitimate interest (fraud prevention, security, service improvement), and consent where required.

Your Rights: As an EU data subject, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email support@tryslidereel.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Data Transfers: Some of our third-party providers (see Section 12) process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other appropriate transfer mechanisms.

Rendered videos are stored on Google Cloud Storage for 14 days after rendering. After this period, video files are automatically and permanently deleted. Your project metadata (topic, settings, slide text) is retained longer as part of your account history.

We strongly recommend downloading your rendered videos promptly. We are not liable for any loss resulting from the expiry and deletion of stored videos.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Slidereel disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:

• Merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
• Uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free operation.
• The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content.
• That any content you create will be accepted or reach your intended audience on third-party platforms.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits warranties that cannot be excluded under applicable EU consumer law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Slidereel's total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid to Slidereel in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Slidereel shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business, or reputation, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable EU law.

By You: You may close your account at any time by contacting support@tryslidereel.com. Cancellation of a subscription (Section 8) is separate from account deletion.

By Us: We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if:

• You breach these Terms in a material way.
• We are required to do so by law or a regulatory authority.
• We reasonably believe your account is being used for illegal or harmful activity.

We may also terminate the Service entirely with 30 days' notice. In this case, we will refund any unused subscription credits on a pro-rata basis.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 9, 10, 13, 15, 16, and 18 survive termination.

These Terms are governed by the laws of [YOUR COUNTRY], European Union, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Informal Resolution First: Before initiating any formal dispute, please contact us at support@tryslidereel.com. We will make a good-faith effort to resolve the issue within 30 days.

EU Online Dispute Resolution: If we cannot resolve your complaint, EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Our contact for ODR purposes is support@tryslidereel.com.

Jurisdiction: Any disputes not resolved informally or through ODR shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [YOUR COUNTRY], except where mandatory consumer protection laws grant you the right to bring proceedings before the courts in your country of residence.

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes (those that significantly affect your rights or obligations), we will:

• Send an email to your registered address at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
• Display a notice in the app or on the website.

If you continue to use the Service after the effective date of a change, you are deemed to have accepted the revised Terms. If you do not agree with a material change, you may cancel your subscription and close your account before the effective date.

For non-material changes (typographical corrections, clarifications, addition of new optional features), we may update these Terms without prior notice. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version.
